Hi! Welcome to lesson eight — the last of Level One. Big smile: you did it! Today, no new words. Today we put it all together — one whole day with Mia and Tom, made only of the phrases you already know. Listen, answer along, and feel how far you've come.
The phrases that flow today
It's morning. It's seven o'clock. Mia wakes up: "Good morning! I'd like a coffee, please." She sees Tom: "Hi, Tom! How are you?" — "I'm good. A little tired, but happy." Tom points: "Mia, this is my sister, Lucy." Mia smiles: "Nice to meet you, Lucy!" Lucy says, "I have a dog! His name is Max." It's one o'clock — time for lunch! At the café: "Can I have a sandwich, please?" "I'd like a cake." "Mmm, it's delicious!" Numbers, time, feelings, family, food — you know them all now.

The story
One morning. Mia wakes up, wants a coffee, and heads to the café. There, Tom waves: "This is my sister, Lucy!" "Nice to meet you, Lucy!" Lucy beams: "I have a dog — his name is Max!" Then — oh no — "No coffee today!" But Mia just smiles: "Then I'd like two cakes — one for Lucy!" Munch, munch. "Mmm, it's delicious!" Friends, family, food, and a happy day — all in English.

Big smile! Sit up, breathe deeply. Last one — answer out loud, your turn!
Q. It's morning. Mia wants a coffee. Is it morning, or night? A. Morning! It's morning.
Q. Does Mia want a coffee, or a tea? A. A coffee! Mia wants a coffee.
Q. At the café, Mia meets Tom's sister. Who is with Tom — his sister, or his brother? A. His sister! Lucy is his sister.
Q. What does Mia say to Lucy? A. "Nice to meet you!"
Q. A small problem — no coffee today! But Mia says, "I'd like two cakes — one for Lucy!" Is Mia kind, or unkind? A. Kind! Mia is very kind.
Q. They eat the cake. Is it delicious? Are they friends now? A. Yes! It's delicious — and they're all friends now.
The same day — now and before
Now: It is morning, and Mia wants a coffee. She goes to the café, and there she meets Tom's sister, Lucy. Mia says, "Nice to meet you!" But oh no — there is no coffee today! Then Mia smiles, "I'd like two cakes — one for Lucy!" They eat the cake. It is delicious, and now they all are friends.
Before: Yesterday, it was morning, and Mia wanted a coffee. She went to the café, and there she met Tom's sister, Lucy. Mia said, "Nice to meet you!" But oh no — there was no coffee that day! Then Mia smiled, "I'd like two cakes — one for Lucy!" They ate the cake. It was delicious, and they all were friends.
A common mistake
Beginners try to say everything perfectly and freeze. Don't. Use the whole phrases you know — Nice to meet you, I'd like…, It's delicious — and just keep flowing.
Say it out loud
- Say one full greeting: "Hi! Nice to meet you. This is my…"
- Tell the time and order: "It's one o'clock. I'd like a cake, please."
- Tell Mia and Tom's whole little day out loud, in your own simple words.
